Director's Message

We all know the story of the Wizard of Oz - the tale of discovering that you probably already have what you always wanted! Yet there is something so timeless and universal about its ideals and values that we never get tired of seeing it either on the big screen, on television, or on the stage…

St Francis Methodist School brings you a brand new version of the classic tale, titled Once Upon A Place… focusing on Dotty, a young Singaporean girl who is fed up with being told what to do all the time and wishes she could be somewhere else.

She soon discovers that you should be careful what you wish for, however, when she finds herself in the magical land of Oz with no way home and an evil witch after her blood.

Throughout the brand-new adapted script and wholly original songs we follow Dotty's journey along a yellow brick road as she makes new friends and eventually comes face-to-face with her pursuer. Only together can the group defeat their enemy, and only by realising that they already have the traits they so desperately seek.

Not only a morality tale for all time Once Upon A Place… is a gripping yet fun-filled show that all the family can enjoy!

We look forward to seeing you Once Upon A Place…!
