It is compulsory for all overseas students below 21 years of age who do not have immediate family in Singapore to stay in a school-approved boarding school or with a home-stay guardian.

Boarding School
Students may choose to live in a boarding school environment with supervised care by a housemaster/housemistress at the following boarding schools;

1. ACS Swimming Pool
2. ACS Oldham Hall (For both male and female students)
3. Nanyang Girls’ Boarding School (For female students only)

Monthly rental fees range from S$900 to S$1200. There are 2, 3 and 4-bedded rooms available. Daily meals and laundry services would be provided. Rooms at ACS Oldham Hall are fully air-conditioned while Nanyang Girls’ Boarding School offers both air-conditioned and non air-conditioned rooms.
Internet facilities, designated study and recreation rooms are provided as well as comprehensive sports facilities with a host of exciting extra-curricular activities which are periodically organised for the boarders. In addition, compulsory, supervised study hours serve to improve the boarder’s studies. This balance between work and play helps to nurture a well-rounded individual.

Home-Stay

  
A unique opportunity to stay with a Singaporean family awaits the students when they join St. Francis Methodist School’s Home-Stay Programme.

We have pre-selected families that provide good homes with a learning environment that is conducive for students. At competitive rates to those offered by commercially run hostels in Singapore, this would be a very good chance for the students to improve on their English language skills and see Singapore from a local perspective. It is truly a unique Singapore experience.
The school maintains a close relationship with our home-stay guardians so that parents can be assured that their children are well taken care of in an appropriate manner at a reasonable price. The monthly rental fee ranges from about S$900 to S$1200. This would be on a twin-sharing basis with daily meals and laundry services provided. The rooms are air-conditioned and internet access is usually included as well. There are limited single rooms available at a higher monthly rental fee.
