Performing & Visual Art

The main belief behind the Drama CCA is that drama should be an enjoyable experience to participate in with friends. Throughout the year students taking part will be encouraged to create their own performances, some of which will be performed for the school on special occasions.

The sessions themselves will have a more informal feel than standard lesson time, but will still retain a loose structure as befits any activity that relies on a group working together. Students can expect to be taught some basic theatre skills and will be given the opportunity to not just perform but assist with other aspects of performance, including stage management and directing.

Students will be encouraged to create performances to mark special events throughout the year, such as Lunar New Year celebrations and the Open House day. On these occasions they will work together on creating pieces which reference the event in question and, in the case of specific ethnic traditions, offer insight for those who are unfamiliar with the celebrations.

CCA participants will also be encouraged to take part in this years school performance in May, for which they can audition to act or assist with technical duties.
