Music Overview

Music for all levels
Our music programme will nurture the artist in you and also allow you to focus your creativity. We offer a wide variety of performance opportunities, including in-house, public  and international platform.
Both beginners and advanced musicians will learn to play the keyboard, guitar, kit drums and hand percussion. They will also learn to transform their personal computers as tools for music learning, composition and production. The students are also introduced to multidisciplinary works where it examines how Visual and Performing Arts can be richly associated with the other arts forms.

Music as an O-level Subject
The Programme aims to develop pupils' musical perception skills in interpreting and understanding music. This is achieved by providing pupils with the exposure to a range of classical western and traditional non-western music in their diverse historical and social contexts. The pupils will be immersed in a musically enriched environment that provides them with opportunities to compose and perform music.

Media Production and Analysis for AUSMAT Year 11 & 12

IMPORTANCE OF MEDIA

  • It is a fundamental importance to defining the ways we see ourselves and others
  • Provides critical insights into the culture and values of one’s society
  • Creates an appreciation in the values of other cultures

WHAT IS MEDIA STUDIES?
Media studies is a central focus of the field of Mass Communications. It addresses three main areas;

  • media content & structure
  • society & culture
  • the audience

The key feature of media is representation. Film and TV programmes are deceptively ‘real’. They appear very believable but it is merely a re-presentation of reality, the end product of a sophisticated mediation process. It is a good foundation for students thinking of taking journalism, business, promotions or film-making in the university.
