TESTIMONIALS

I have the privilege of being a student at SFMS for 2 years from 2000 to 2002, from the old campus to the new and current one.  My time at SFMS was filled with rich memory of a high-school student’s life, from study to sports to social activities. Classmates, teachers and school’s staffs had all been very kind and friendly. Together we formed a large but close group for study as well as extra-course activities.
I am certain that my fellow juniors at SFMS today are receiving ever increasing quality of teaching and variety of student life which shall follow them all the way.
My time with SFMS was full of joy and memory which have been following me wherever I go. I vividly remember climbing up the stairs leading to the school’s old campus, or playing football on the new campus’ ground.  My classmates, teachers and the school staffs had been friendly and helpful. Together we formed a close network for study as well as for students’ life.
SFMS is a vital part of a solid foundation upon which my education and professional achievements have been based. I am happy to learn that the school’s reputation is ever increasing both locally and regionally. I am without any least doubt that my fellow juniors at SFMS are being well nurtured and shall fly high in their future endeavours.
It is now my great pleasure to let you know that I have past the course with good results, having been awarded the Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Skills (equivalent to a Masters degree). With that, together with good record of achievements and professional conduct, I was further admitted to be Barrister-at-Law of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple, for England & Wales with full rights of audience in the Supreme Court.

I enrolled in the English Language Foundation Programme in St. Francis Methodist School in June 2009, and have successfully completed the programme in November 2009.

I would like to thank my Care Teacher, Ms. Katherine, and Dr. Norman Wong for their patience, as well as the help and encouragement they have given during this time.  St. Francis has many kind teachers and unique students.  They gave me the confidence to speak and corrected me gently when I made any mistake.  This has helped me improve tremendously in my spoken English.  More significantly, St. Francis has helped me make it to one of the best girls’ schools in Singapore, Methodist Girls’ School.

Thank you, St. Francis!

I first went to Singapore when I was 16. I remember being such a timid girl that it was hard to make friends at first. However, under the guardianship of a Singaporean couple and genuine care freely provided by the school, I grew slowly. It’s not easy being alone in a foreign country, but the challenge will make you stronger as long as you take it positively. Teachers in St Francis were really my friends. They didn’t only interact with me in class but even after class, we talked about anything under the sun and they helped me a lot with my personal problems.

Being in St. Francis was one of the most important experience in my life. Here I grew to be a young adult with a constructive mindset. The staff and professors in school really took every opportunity to help us overcome our own limits. And of course, while I was here, I made many friends, who I will keep in touch for life, because friendship knows no limit. I am currently studying in Haaga – Heila University of Applied Scienc in Helsinki, Finland. I am really grateful to St. Francis and to my teachers.

THANK YOU ST. FRANCIS

I joined St. Francis Methodist School in 2007 for my Secondary 2 Singapore-Cambridge Course.  Even though I have spent only one year in this school, it had been a short but memorable time with loads of invaluable experiences.  I was also able to make some very good friends from different parts of the world.  The teachers in St. Francis have helped me to improve my English as well as adapt to the education system in Singapore.  I am well-prepared and ready to take on my next challenge in my further studies – all thanks to St.  Francis.  Thank you!

I am Irene from Indonesia. I graduated from St. Francis Methodist School in 2008. Now I am studying in Macquarie University (Sydney, Australia), doing a double degree Bachelor of Applied Finance with Bachelor of Commerce. I am very proud that I can get in to this university as it is one of the best universities for business major not only in Australia but also in the world!

This pride can only be achieved through St. Francis. I took the Australian Matriculation which is offered by St. Francis. Unlike any other school, this program which I did in St. Francis is very comprehensive, structured, and similar to the one in Australia. Nevertheless, not only because it offers Australian Matriculation program which is recognized throughout Australia, but also because of the teaching staffs who have the eagerness to teach and help me until I understand and able to solve the problems in my study, patiently and clearly.

St. Francis is the best school for learning. It has a very unique way in teaching. As it does not teach students to be obedient like a nerd but the essentials to be successful in any of our talent and aspiration. It is really a pleasure for me to study in St. Francis.

SFMS has an excellent curriculum and reputation. I was able to interact to peers with multi-faceted and unique backgrounds. The staff and teachers have helped me strengthen my leadership skills and taught me soft skills that were never elaborated in ordinary textbooks. On a more personal note, SFMS provided me with numerous opportunities to succeed and a promising future. As such, I believe by having done my AUSMAT in SFMS has greatly accelerated my learning curve and have also helped in transition to university immensely.

My name is Duy Minh Tran. I am a former student of St Francis Methodist School within 2004-2006 periods, enrolled in the AUSMAT program provided by SFMS. The program was kind of hard for people who speak English as a second language. But it will turn out as a good choice. Even after leaving SFMS with a B average AUSMAT diploma, I still can be very competitive and qualified for many education systems around the world. I fit in really well here in the United States education.

St Francis Methodist School in general or AUSMAT program itself will be a good “stairway” for you to get involved with the world. SFMS is simply the right place for you to start your adventure. Hopefully I will get my bachelor done around next winter, 2010.

My time spent studying, the AUSMAT programme, at Saint Francis Methodist School was one of the most enjoyable times of my life. Completing the AUSMAT programme gave me the qualifications I needed to go nearly anywhere I wanted to go in the world. For me, I have always wanted to study in New Zealand, and I was able to do this because of the AUSMAT programme that St Francis offers which is recognised internationally. The subjects I took, like Biology, helped to prepare me for the Bachelor of Nursing Course that I am current taking. Being in St. Francis also helped me to become more confident in myself. I was encouraged to take part in activities, like playing the bass guitar for Christian Fellowship and taking part in the inter-class sports events. Confidence being very important to me during my university life, as my course requires me to go out in a clinical setting and care for my clients as I would have to in the future when I become a nurse.

St Francis has a lot of international students from different countries, allowing me to learn a lot about different cultures. This helped to prepare me for the change of culture that I had to face when I left Singapore to study in New Zealand. St Francis has allowed me to gain the experience, knowledge and qualifications I needed, to open the way to what I am doing now.

St. Francis Baccalaureate has widened my intellectual and thought processes being a liberal arts program. Subjects ranging from the sciences, writing and research studies to business. There is wide variety of subjects within the programme which is helpful for most students who are unsure of what they want do with their lives in the future. This way students can see where their weak and strong points lie and make better life decisions pertaining to their education.

As an international student, there are difficulties that I have to face when living in foreign country. There were times where I stumbled in communication with my teachers and friends. Nevertheless, studying in SFMS was really a great joy in my life. I got to expose myself in a community with different cultures and backgrounds. Moreover with the programs offered, it gave me a wider option onto which path I would take once I graduated. In year 2005, I graduated my pre-university in SFMS with a Western Australian Matriculation certificate. Currently, I am taking a bachelor degree majoring in multimedia design at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia.

“People grow older and become wiser” and I guess I am wiser now. When I reflect back, I realize that SFMS actually gave me the preparation before confronting with the big things ahead of me. The ups and downs that I faced during my school were just part of the beginning. I am thankful for being part of SFMS family and the wonderful moments in school will definitely live in me.

Studying in SFMS was one of the most memorable periods of my life. The environment and culture, albeit slightly different from other schools, truly brought out the potential in me, and caused me to be where I am today.

I am currently studying Chiropractic in RMIT in Australia, and the knowledge and skills that I gained in SFMS are still relevant, and I can use them everyday in every part of my course.

The best thing about SFMS is the teachers, who not only taught me, but cared for and befriended me. Even after leaving SFMS for many years, I still keep in contact with a lot of them.

The HND program is definitely a short and direct way to get my degree. I chose HND because of its analytical and communication skills. The practical lessons will help me in my working world in future.
