SFMS Good Friday & Easter Assembly Programme

On 7th April, we had a special assembly commemorating Good Friday and Easter. We learnt how Jesus went to the cross to suffer and die to save us from our sins, and rose again on the third day so that we have new hope in Him. The students first watched a video about Jesus’ journey to the cross and how He suffered and died to save us, followed by a short skit from 4 Respect which retold the story of the resurrection of Jesus. The assembly ended with Year 3 and 5 students presenting a song titled “It’s about the cross”, to remind us of God’s great love at the cross. Check out the video below to listen to the song presentation!

Good Friday and Easter are reminders of God’s great love that He sent His only son Jesus, to come to earth and die on the cross to pay for the punishment of our sins. Because of Jesus, we are forgiven and made right with God. Through Jesus’ resurrection, He had conquered death and He is alive, so we can experience a new life in Him and go to heaven.
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said. Come and see the place where He lay.” – Matthew 28:6 (NIV)
