Year 6 English Experiential Learning to Jacob Ballas Children's Garden

In St Francis Methodist School, our team of Teachers are constantly seeking ways and opportunities for our young students to engage in experiential learning outside the confines of the classroom.

During a recent excursion to Jacob Ballas Children’s Gardens at the Botanic Gardens, our Year 6 students had the chance to observe and explore the natural environment in great weather!

In this modern technological world, we incorporated the use of iPads and phones during this excursion. Students captured photographs and videos of what they observed and proceeded to write English journals based on the information they gathered. Our goal is to help our students acquire English language skills in enjoyable and engaging ways.
